The Adriatic Ionian Euroregion (AIE) is pleased to announce that its next General Assembly, combined with the celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Association, will take place on 12 June 2026 in Tirana, Albania, kindly hosted by the Tirana Regional Council.
This important milestone marks 20 years of AIE’s commitment to fostering cooperation across the Adriatic-Ionian area, promoting a shared vision in which local and regional authorities play a key role. In a time when the European project faces new global challenges, strengthening cooperation remains more essential than ever. The event will provide an opportunity to reflect on the achievements of the past two decades and to discuss the future perspectives of the Euroregion. It will bring together political representatives from member regions, former Presidents, and representatives of EU Institutions.
The programme will include:
– A special session dedicated to the 20th Anniversary of AIE
– The General Assembly meeting
– A seminar titled “Global Citizenship Education as a Common Denominator for Better Implementation of the SDGs in IPA Countries”, organised within the framework of the GEAR-UP! Project
