The Adriatic Ionian Euroregion has a President and two Vice-Presidents. They are elected by the Assembly for a term of two years. Usually, the President and the Vice-Presidents come from different countries and from both sides of the Adriatic and Ionian Seas. The President and the Vice-Presidents are elected by a majority vote of those present at the elective Assembly.
Aldrin DALIPI – Regional Council of Tirana
He was unanimously elected President of the AIE by the members present at the Assembly held online on 17 December 2025.
BIOGRAPHY
Aldrin Dalipi has an extensive and well-established career in both regional and local as well as in central government. Since 2015, he has served as President of the Tirana Regional Council and is currently in his third term. Previously, he served for six years (2013–2019) as Chair of the Tirana Municipality Council. At the central government level, Aldrin Dalipi served as Spokesperson for the Albanian Government and the Prime Minister from 2002 to 2005. Prior to that, from 2000 to 2002, he held the position of Director of Communication and International Relations at the Central Election Commission, a period marked by significant local and parliamentary electoral processes in Albania. During his career, he had executive role as journalist and media manager in Albanian media.
He currently also leads the Association of Albanian Regional Councils since October 2015. In terms of his engagement at the level of European organizations, Mr. Dalipi has been elected and currently serves as President of the Adriatic–Ionian Euroregion. Previously, he held the position of Vice President of the Adriatic–Ionian Euroregion from December 2015 to December 2025.
He has completed his studies in Law as well as in Arts Management.
MAIN FUNCTIONS
He/She is the legal representative of the AIE, convenes and chairs the Assembly and the Executive Committee, manages the AIE in accordance with the decisions of the Assembly and performs other tasks defined by the Statute.
