The eighth edition of the Adriatic Sea Forum – Cruise, Ferry, Sail & Yacht took place with great success in Venice on 25 and 26 June 2026.
The Secretary General of the Adriatic Ionian Euroregion, Francesco Cocco, took part as a speaker in the round table “The value of maritime tourism for Adriatic Countries”, reflecting on how maritime tourism is a major driver of economic activity across the Adriatic. The discussion focused on expenditure patterns, supply chains, and the wider induced effects on coastal economies, with particular attention to investment trends and opportunities for strengthening the sector’s contribution to regional growth.
During the roundtable discussion, the Secretary General also presented the experience of the Adriatic Ionian Euroregion and the Interreg Euro-MED Governance project Community4Tourism, which capitalises on and connects the results of other projects funded by the Programme, with the aim of ensuring that their outputs can be transferred and replicated by other territories and organisations.
The event also featured various roundtables, speeches, presentations, and side events, bringing together professionals and leading representatives to share ideas, experiences, and fresh perspectives on the future of maritime tourism in the Adriatic.
During the afternoon of Thursday, 26 June, the Adriatic Sea Tourism Report was presented, providing in-depth quantitative and qualitative insights into the three sectors of maritime tourism in the Adriatic (cruises, ferries, and sail & yacht tourism), and offering a common framework for understanding the dynamics taking place in the Adriatic area.
