The Adriatic Ionian Euroregion will take part on the 8th of June 2017 in the 17th Forum of the Adriatic and Ionian Chamber of Commerce (AIC) and 18th Forum of the Adriatic and Ionian Cities.
To better coordinate their activities, the two fora are organasing a join statutory event in Abruzzo with a specific focus on the Governance of EUSAIR.
The event will be held from the 7th of 9th of June in Chieti and Pescara (Italy).
Along with the Adriatic Ionian Euroregion, the AIC Forum and the Forum of the Adriatic and Ionian Cities are two of the major promoters of the ambitious Adriatic and Ionian Macroregional project. All these networks have strong interests in common topics, such as blue growth, connecting the region, environmental quality and sustainable tourism. These specific themes are also covered by the EUSAIR Pillars.
The Euroregion will be represented by the Secretary General Francesco Cocco in the round table “Which governance model to relaunch the territories in a macro regional perspective?” along with Ms. Cinzia De Marzo, EU External Expert for the European Commission for EU Macro Regional Strategies, Mr. Rodolfo Giampieri, President of Central Adriatic Port System Authority, Mr. Giuseppe Sciacca, Senior Policy Officer, of Conference of Peripheral Maritime Region, Ms. Mirjana Čagalj, Croatian Chamber of Economy Vice President for Construction, Transport and Connections, Riccardo Strano, Italian project partner of EUSAIR Facility Point (Marche Region), and a Delegate of Forum of the Adriatic and Ionian Cities.
The Secretary General will stress the importance of the networks in the governance process of EUSAIR, he will also presented the innovative governance approach of MED programme based on horizontal project, community of projects and Axis 4, as well as BleuTourMed_C3, the Horizontal Project, built to create a MED thematic community on Sustainable Tourism.
In the afternoon session, Andrea Di Girolamo, as representative of AIE Secretariat, will contribute to the Thematic Workgroups on Sustainable Tourism introducing the main activities of BleuTourMed_C3 and giving a short presentation of the MED thematic community on Sustainable Tourism.
