AIE President and President of the Tirana Regional Council, Aldrin Dalipi, took part in the 31st edition of the European Days of Territorial Representatives of the State in Tirana, reaffirming the Adriatic Ionian Euroregion’s commitment to strengthening regional cooperation and supporting Albania’s European integration process. During the event, Dalipi emphasized the importance of institutional dialogue, territorial governance and cross-border partnerships as essential tools for promoting sustainable development, territorial cohesion and stronger cooperation across the Adriatic-Ionian region.
The 31st European Days were held from May 14th to 16th, as organised by the European Association of State Territorial representatives (EASTR). Under the theme “Resilience in the Face of Population Vulnerabilities,” it brought together over one hundred participants from across Europe. The event featured interactive discussions and exchanges throughout four thematic workshops focused on governance, resilience, territorial cooperation and public administration challenges.
Representing both the Adriatic Ionian Euroregion and the Tirana Regional Council, Dalipi shared European experiences and best practices related to regional governance, connectivity, environmental sustainability and interregional collaboration. He highlighted the strategic role of local and regional authorities in implementing European standards and bringing institutions closer to citizens, particularly in countries advancing toward EU membership. His participation underlined the importance of strengthening networks between territorial representatives and regional institutions to foster stability, economic development and closer European integration throughout the region.
