From September 2013 to January 2014, the Directorate General for Regional and Urban Policy of the European Commission has launched a public consultation on the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian region (EUSAIR), inviting all those interested (private individuals, public organizations, enterprises, civil society, etc). to send their contributions.
A consultation on the content of the future Strategy is being conducted also by Adriatic Ionian Euroregion and its members in the framework of AdriGov project (www.adrigov.eu). The result of this consultation has been sent to European Commission summarized in the document “Adriatic Ionian Euroregion Contribution to the EUSAIR”. The paper gathers the ideas and the position of the AIE on EUSAIR in order to make sure that the strategy will be realistic in its starting point, appropriate in its objectives and responsive to the real needs of inhabitants.
Together with other inputs provided by other stakeholders, the AIE Contribution to the EUSAIR will be presented during the Stakeholder Conference that will take place in Athens, Greece on 6-7 February 2014 organised by European Commission, together with the Hellenic Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
