The PANORAMED High-level Conference will take place on Friday, January 18th, 2019 in L’Aquila, Italy. The event is organised by the Service of Territorial Cooperation IPA Adriatic of the Abruzzo Region – Head of Service Paola Di Salvatore, in collaboration with Italy’s Department of Cohesion Policiesthe Italian Agency of territorial cohesion of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the Italian Interreg MED Committee and Marche Region as the Country Coordinator of the PANORAMED Project.

The Conference focuses on governance and maritime surveillance in the Mediterranean, and is the first to be held in Italy on such a strategic topic for the European Union. It intends to be an opportunity for discussion and technical analysis of the actions to implement at local, regional, national and cross-border level, in order to improve maritime surveillance in the Mediterranean region as  whole.

The AIE President, Nikola DOBROSLAVIC and the AIE Secretary General will give their contribution as panellists of the conference. Mr. Antonio Tajani, President of the EU Parliament has been announced as pannelist in l’Aquila.

The Conference has two sessions:

First session: Opening speech by the President of the Abruzzo Region, Giovanni Lolli, and the keynote speeches by the President of the European Parliament, Antonio Tajani, the highest rank of the Guardia di Finanza, Commandant General Giorgio Toschi, and the Representative of the Committee of the Regions and President of the Adriatic-Ionian Euroregion, Nikola Dobroslavic.

Second session: Two round tables, the first examines the impact of governance on maritime surveillance in the European cohesion policy, while the second analyses PANORAMED Strategic Projects Topics, in order to identify the relevant stakeholders at national level.

In between the two sessions, the Guardia di Finanza present the actions carried out as marine Policing Unit.
