The Adriatic Ionian Euroregion will organise, as side event of the European Week of Cities and Regions, the conference “Fostering sustainable tourism in the Mediterranean region” in Brussels on the 9th of October 2019.

The event has the objective of triggering the discussion on the importance of a sustainable approach in European tourism, with a special focus on the Mediterranean area and the next programming period.

The event is jointly organised with the partnership of BlueTourMed project and with the active participation of the MED Sustainable Tourism Community. This is the occasion for this Community to showcase the achievements of its territorial cooperation projects in fostering sustainable tourism in the Mediterranean area, as well as to present important policy paper and factsheets.

The event is open to EU institutions, policy-makers, tourism public actors at European, national, regional level, and will gather representatives of the MED Sustainable Tourism Community.

It will take place on the 9th of October from 9 am to 1 pm at the Tuscany Region delegation office in Brussels.
