The Adriatic Ionian Euroregion is launching a Call for Expression of Interest to select at least 60 young people to participate in the Youth4cohesion (Y4C) project.
The young people will have the opportunity to learn more about EU Cohesion policy and to establish a dialogue with decision-making structures and to understand how project-based policy implementation works.

The project Youth4cohesion is financed by the European Commission – Directorate General for Regional and Urban Policy, under the Support for citizen engagement in the implementation of cohesion policy Call, and aims at stimulating young people and youth organisations engagement in the new Cohesion policy.

The action is addressed to youth (aged 18-35 years) and youth organisations based in Albania, Bosnia Herzegovina, Croatia, Greece, Italy and Montenegro. Participation from North Macedonia, Serbia, Slovenia and Kosovo* will be welcome as well. By involving young people from EU Member States and Western Balkan Candidate and Potential Candidate countries, it follows up with AIE’s commitment in the promotion of youth participation and cooperation across the Adriatic Ionian Region.

In particular, the Call is aimed at creating a working group that will study European, national, regional programmes and will identify the authorities involved. The objective of this activity will be to make young people take ownership of Cohesion policy and engage in decision-making and project-based implementation of programmes as stakeholders. Activities will take place online through 5 webinars each with focusing on one of the Cohesion policy priorities: – a smarter Europe, – a greener, carbon free Europe, – more connected Europe, – a more social Europe, – Europe closer to citizens).

On-line webinars are foreseen to start in May and will unfold throughout 2021, whereas the Youth4cohesion Launch Conference will take place on-line on 9 April 2021.

More information about the programme of webinars will be provided shortly after the selection procedure will be accomplished.

At the end of the training path, in a Final web Conference, each participant will obtain the award of cohesion builder and will be part of a permanent network of “Young Cohesion Builders”, embedded in existing initiatives and networks such as the Adriatic Ionian Youth Forum as well as the Adriatic Ionian Youth Community.

The Call is accessible through this link. The deadline to express the interest is 30 March.
