To foster institutional cooperation and promote a shared model of Adriatic governance, through the implementation of an operational plan participated by local stakeholder: this is one among the priority objectives of the Project “AdriGov”, co- funded by the European Commission in the framework of IPA Adriatic Cross-border Cooperation Programme 2007 -2013.

This topic will be discussed in Bari, during the two-day event organized by the Puglia Region at Boscolo Hotel on the 25 and 26 September 2013. Mrs. Silvia Godelli , Regional Councillor for the Mediterranean , Culture and Tourism, will welcome the partecipants.

The focus of the seminar will be the EU strategies for the Adriatic-Ionian Macro-region area, in collaboration with local institutions, especially considering the forthcoming enlargement of the European Union to the Adriatic area.

Goal to be achieved through the Project “AdriGov”, which promotes the adoption of a participated governance operational plan.

It is a macro-regional approach that aims to give fresh impetus to the cooperation and investments for the advantages of the involved areas, about mutual interest fields.

Mr. Francesco Cocco,“AdriGov” project manager, coming from Molise Region, lead partner, will open the first day of the workshop, focusing on the theme “Towards the Adriatic Ionian Macroregion: policies and tools for Increasing regional attractiveness.”

The first part will provide the contributions of European Commission representatives, working groups from Croatia and Albania and Ministry of Foreign Affairs involved in the definition of the “pillars ” of the macro-regional strategies .

The second part, introduced by Mr. Bernardo Notarangelo, Director of the Mediterranean Service of Puglia region, will be focused on the theme of European Territorial Co-operation and on the contributions that the local network can provide to the implementation of an operational plan for a macro-regional strategy, addressed to the Adriatic-Ionian area .

“Adriatic-Ionian Euroregion Thematic Committee on Tourism and Culture” will be the theme discussed on Thursday 26; the Councillor Godelli will welcome the partecipants and will introduce Mr. Francesco Palumbo, Director of the Area “Policies for the promotion of the territory, knowledges and talents of the Puglia Region”. The session is reserved for Adriatic-Ionian Euroregion members and “AdriGov” partners.
