In the framework of the EUSAIR process, for the definition of a new European Strategy to enhance the sustainable development in the Adriatic-Ionian macro-region, which will enter into force in 2014, the Emilia-Romagna Region, AdriGov partner and member of the Adriatic-Ionian Euroregion, organized a joint thematic session of the Adriatic-Ionian Euroregion, to be held in Bologna on Mary 27th and 28th.  The Adriatic-Ionian Euroregion includes 26 local and regional authorities from the Adriatic-Ionian macro-area (Italy, Greece, Albania, Montenegro, Croatia, Serbia and Bosnia Herzegovina), Emilia-Romagna Region chairs the AIE Thematic Commission on Environment and has the Vice Presidency of the AIE Thematic Commission on Welfare.

The draft agenda of the two days event, in attachment together with the Registration form, includes, on May 27th, two parallel thematic sessions of Environment and Welfare; AIE Thematic Documents and Political Statements will be presented, discussed and approved on these crucial issues. On May 28th Mr. Patrizio Bianchi, Emilia-Romagna Regional Minister for Innovation, education and research, Professor in Economics and former Dean of the Ferrara University, guided a study visit on the so-called “modello emiliano”, to focus on good practices and patterns of development which can become key leverages for competitivity, through integration and innovation. The focus followed with a workshop in the afternoon about innovation and integration in territorial development policies at a macroregional scale.
