Working plan:

  • Create a strategic document for the Adriatic Ionian Euroregion with respect to regional fishery and mariculture strategic plans and the national development strategies as well;
  • Define the strategic meaning of fishery and mariculture activities in the Adriatic Ionian Euroregion and include it into a model of integrated coastal management;
  • Create legal basis for the enforcement of fisheries and mariculture activities in the Adriatic Ionian Euroregion respecting, however, regional particularities;
  • Create a unique data-bank network on fisheries for the Adriatic Ionian Euroregion which will allow the insight into all interregional projects, currently in progress already realized;
  • Create a unique data base which will collect all available information regarding science and research projects which are conducted for the necessities of the fishery and mariculture activities in the Adriatic Ionian Euroregion;
  • Create a unique informative system for the citizens of the Adriatic Ionian Euroregion which will provide answers to public’s queries concerning fishery and mariculture activities;
  • Create a system on a regional and local level which will allow constant communications between professional services responsible for planning and development of fishery and mariculture in the Adriatic Ionian Euroregion;
  • Establish unique standards for the Adriatic Ionian Euroregion as a whole, which will asses the influence of these activities on the environment;
  • Define projects which will contribute through further fisheries development to the income increase and boost of employment policies;
  • Create a framework for an overall equilibrium of the fisheries’ and mariculture policies of the Adriatic Ionian Euroregion (fishery efforts, market strategies, sanitary and hygienic standards, product quality, cycle activities, technological standards, environment and nature protection, issuing various permits and licenses, etc.) in order to form a unique brand for fishery and mariculture products and define criteria which need to be respected by all.
